Bug Safari at Puerto Rican Cultural Center

Join Yara Taino & Guaytiao as we dance under the Pecan Trees! Activities will share ways the whole family can build a relationship with Nature — from your own backyard, everyday! We will dance LOTS of Areyto, Taino ceremonial dance and enjoy special presentations by: Skye Howell, Potawatomi/Ottawa; Co Founder Full Humanity Consulting — Native children’s game. Marcia Beckford, Science Action Club educator — Bug Safari, Earth needs Bugs! Doug Martin from the Central Texas Cherokee Township Central Texas Master Naturalist — Nature Education Activity. Yara Taino Indigenous Community — Hands on activities with dirt for all ages. Tekina-eiru, Spiritual Leader & Naguety (Elder), Yara Taino & Guaytiao — Taino Storytelling & flute music. This joyful gathering will take place outdoors on the Great Lawn of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 701 Tillery Street, Austin 78702. Our entrance is in back facing the lawn, steps away from free parking.
